FDIC Office of the Ombudsman Releases Activity Report for Calendar Years 2019 and 2020

On May 5, 2021, the FDIC Office of the Ombudsman published a report detailing its activities and feedback from the banking industry for calendar years 2019 and 2020. The report describes the Office’s nationwide series of eight in-person Listening Sessions, which solicited comments, observations, and recommendations from FDIC-supervised institutions and other interested parties. These Listening Sessions primarily focused on the FDIC’s existing Appeals processes. Ultimately, the Office of the Ombudsman, through these sessions and in publishing the report, is seeking to increase transparency in the FDIC.

Feedback on the report is welcome, which can be elicited by contacting M. Anthony Lowe, Director, Office of the Ombudsman, at mlowe@fdic.gov.
