Contacts
Augie represents financial services clients in connection with litigation and regulatory matters. He defends clients facing government enforcement actions brought by federal and state agencies and complex civil actions brought by private plaintiffs. His litigation work includes pursuing appeals before federal and state appellate courts.
Augie’s regulatory work includes advising clients on key federal and state laws governing the industry, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), state consumer protection acts, and agency and GSE requirements. He also has experience with related corporate and transactional matters, such as entity formation and dissolution, acquisitions, and employment/consulting arrangements. Augie’s regulatory work benefits from his litigation experience, which helps him view issues from the perspective of a reviewing court or an investigating government agency.
Before joining the firm, Augie served as a law clerk to Judge Bruce M. Selya of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and Judge John J. McConnell, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.
