NJ Governor Nominates National Consumer-Protection Figure to Lead the Division of Consumer Affairs

New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill recently announced her intent to nominate Christopher L. Peterson, a nationally recognized consumer-protection expert with extensive experience in consumer financial protection policy and enforcement, to lead the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, which operates within the Office of the Attorney General.

Peterson has an extensive background in consumer financial protection as a former senior official at the CFPB, and he was most recently a law professor at the University of Utah.  The nomination is subject to the applicable appointment and confirmation process.
