New York Prohibits Discrimination Against Domestic Violence Victims

Effective immediately, New York has enacted a law prohibiting discrimination in several areas against victims of domestic violence.  The law prohibits, among other things, any creditor or any creditor’s officer, agent, or employee from discriminating against any applicant for credit or making credit decisions on the basis of an applicant’s status as a victim of domestic violence.
