Ginnie Mae Announces Updates Regarding MyGinnieMae Online Portal

Ginnie Mae recently issued APM 20-11, which announced new requirements for users of MyGinnieMae (MGM), its online issuer portal.  MGM will eventually replace the Ginnie Mae Enterprise Portal (i.e., GMEP 1.0) and will serve as the agency’s primary platform for extending information technology capabilities to the Ginnie Mae community.  Effective December 1, 2020, MGM will become the sole avenue to access all Ginnie Mae systems.

Effective September 1, 2020, all issuers of Ginnie Mae mortgage-backed securities must meet the following two requirements:

  1. Each organization will need to have a minimum of three organization administrators (OAs) with active MGM credentials.  Formerly known as security officers and enrollment administrators, OAs have the system authority to, among other things, invite end users (e.g., Ginnie Mae employees, business partners, and program participants who require access to the portal) to register for an MGM account and approve user registration.
  2. Users of all Ginnie Mae systems will be required to have active credentials to access MGM in order to be able to transact on Ginnie Mae systems.
