FHA Announces Multi-Factor Authentication for FHA Connection

FHA announced in FHA Info #2025-23 implementation of a new mandatory phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) requirement for all users of its FHA Connection (FHAC) system.  FHA stated that this security enhancement is part of FHA’s ongoing efforts to protect lender, borrower, and stakeholder data and to strengthen identity management and access control capabilities.

Users are required to implement this new phishing-resistant MFA by July 28, 2025, to maintain access to the FHAC system. This requirement does not affect users who connect to FHAC through the Business-to-Government interface. FHA recommends that users set up and begin using this enhanced security feature as soon as possible to ensure uninterrupted access and bolster security.
