CFPB Issues RFI on Consumer Financial Education

The CFPB issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking comments and information on the overall efficiency and effectiveness of its consumer financial education programs.

The CPFB identifies various topics and is seeking comments that specifically relate to:

  • Improving the CFPB’s existing programs and delivery mechanisms;
  • Better measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of the CFPB’s financial education work; and
  • Eliminating or minimizing the duplication of the CFPB’s financial education work with work performed by other entities, including federal, state, and local agencies.

The CFPB also provides a detailed list that solicits more specific feedback related to the three general topics identified immediately above.

Comments are due July 9, 2018.

This is the eleventh in a series of RFIs announced as part of Acting Director Mick Mulvaney’s call for evidence to ensure the CFPB is fulfilling its proper and appropriate functions.
